Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry may have tipped the team’s 2025 NFL draft plans at the NFL owners meeting.
In an interview, Berry compared one of the top prospects to two Hall of Famers. He compared Travis Hunter’s offensive prowess to Hall of Fame cornerbacks Champ Bailey and Charles Woodson.
Berry started the conversation by saying, “With all due respect–because they guys are Hall of Famers– to Charles Woodson and Champ Bailey,” before contextualizing the trio’s production. He pointed out that Bailey and Woodson had minimal receiving production in college, largely a byproduct of the era they played in.
Berry said Hunter had more receiving production this season than Bailey and Woodson had combined across their collegiate careers.
I mean when have we ever seen AB this giddy over a player … turned into a nerd for two straight minutes. Called him brilliant just before this … It’s Hunter at 2 unless Cam Ward is somehow there @TheKardiac_Kid@BeLikeMike_06pic.twitter.com/yw0KhppP4N

Berry is never effervescent when talking about prospects. Let alone comparing a prospect to multiple Hall of Famers. Berry may have shown his hand at the NFL owners meeting. He acknowledged the team was looking at Hunter primarily as a wide receiver. The Browns need all the help they can on offense. Hunter could be the jumpstart the Browns require on offense. The organization has a few weeks left to make a decision.
