Clemson makes it to Omaha in these way-too-early College World Series predictions

Could 2025 be the year Clemson baseball finally returns to Omaha? A couple of national analysts think so.

D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers included the Tigers in his early predictions for the Men’s College World Series, citing their experience and momentum: “They’re battle-tested. I like their chances,” he said in an interview with NCAA Digital's Michella Chester.

Chester herself is also high on the Tigers, listing Clemson among her eight CWS selections alongside Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma and North Carolina.

Aaron Fitt, another D1Baseball insider, didn’t include Clemson in his picks, instead favoring programs like Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia and Oregon State. If Rogers and Chester are right, it would mark Clemson’s first trip to the College World Series since 2010.

The Tigers have been trending in the right direction under third-year head coach Erik Bakich. Clemson improved to 32-5 (10-3 ACC) after Friday’s win over Stanford, extending their win streak to seven games while leading the ACC standings. Ranked as high as No. 3 nationally by Perfect Game, the Tigers are building on last season’s breakthrough, when they won a regional for the first time in 14 years before falling in the Super Regional to Florida.

It could be Clemson's year.
