Jacob Jarrell kept his hot streak alive on Saturday night, hammering his fourth home run in three games to push No. 4 Clemson past Stanford, 11-10, at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Jarrell’s solo shot in the sixth inning traveled an estimated 427 feet, landing squarely on the scissor lift platform beyond centerfield. The long ball broke a tie and gave the Tigers the edge in what turned out to be an offensive slugfest.Clemson (33-5, 11-3 ACC) locked up another weekend series with the win — the Tigers still haven’t dropped a series all year — and extended their win streak to eight games.
The two teams combined for 28 hits, including four homers and a pair of doubles, in a night where pitchers struggled to find a rhythm. Both starters were knocked out early — Stanford’s Ryan Speshyock lasted just one-third of an inning in his first start, surrendering three runs including a three-run blast from Collin Priest. Priest went 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

Stanford (18-14, 5-12 ACC) used seven pitchers while Clemson turned to eight. Reed Garris gave the Tigers some stability in the middle innings, holding the Cardinal to one hit in 2.1 innings and earning the win. Lucas Mahlstedt came on in the seventh and closed out the game to pick up his nation-leading 12th save of the season.
Jarrell’s homer gave Clemson the lead for good, and the Tigers never gave it back. They’ll aim to complete the sweep on Sunday in the series finale.
