Chendall Weaver announces return to Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns will have another veteran piece to rely on during the 2025-2026 campaign. On Saturday, the team announced that guard Chendall Weaver will return next season. That made him the fourth player from last year's roster to announce his intentions to stay in Austin in the last two weeks.

In 20 games last year, the talented senior averaged 6.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.4 assists. He also shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range. While he spent most of the season battling injuries, the Austin native gave the Longhorns a needed spark at the end of the season. That led to him getting some starts.

His impact, especially during March, did not go unnoticed and stood out to the Longhorn's new head coach, Sean Miller.

" But it is interesting because if you start to look at the stat sheet and then you watched them in the SEC tournament, you could really tell what Weaver means to their team,” Miller said. “I don’t know who wouldn’t want to have that guy on their team. He gives you everything. He really is, I think, a difference maker for their team.”

With Weaver back in the mix, Texas has a solid core to rely on. That includes Tramon Mark, Nic Codie, and Jordan Pope. The Longhorns have also been busy in the transfer portal, adding Purdue's Camden Heide and Xavier's Daylin Swain. That group should provide Texas with more depth and scoring.

While the roster is far from complete, Weaver's return is welcome news for the Longhorns.
