Chiefs HC Andy Reid shares his thoughts on former LB Josh Uche's struggles in Kansas City

The 2025 NFL league meetings took place earlier in the week, and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was among other team representatives in Florida, fielding questions from reporters.Reid shared his thoughts on former Chiefs linebacker Josh Uche’s problems adjusting to Steve Spagnuolo’s defensive schemes after the midseason trade from the New England Patriots. Zach Berman of PHLY posted the quote to social media.“Probably wasn’t a great fit for what we do,” said Reid. “And we got him late, and we were trying to work him in. That’s a tougher deal to do. (I) would have liked to see him throughout training camp, so we have time to get him in there and go. By the time we got him, we were rolling. I’m not sure the fit was exactly what our defense (needed); he’s a great kid.”The 26-year-old had two sacks in six games last season with the rebuilding Patriots and 20.5 sacks in his career. He only played in six games with Kansas City, recording ten combined tackles (7 solo) and no sacks, and was inactive for multiple games. He signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, seeking a fresh start to regain his identity as a feared pass rusher.
