A Pennsylvania golf course that was opened by a Vietnam vet more than three decades ago has permanently closed, with the land having been sold to a local farmer.
Cedar Ridge Golf Course in Gettysburg opened as a 9-hole course in 1988 and another nine was added the following year, but after Dennis Seymore recently sold the land, the course has seen its final day.
According to a story at the Harrisburg Patriot-News, all the equipment will be sold off in an upcoming auction later this month.
The golf club will be holding an equipment auction on April 24 both on-site and online. The on-site auction begins at 9 a.m. The online auction begins at noon.
The golf course is auctioning off tractors, mowers, golf carts, utility carts, restaurant equipment and tools, among other items.
Cedar Ridge Golf Club isn’t the only golf club in the region that is closing. Evergreen Golf Course in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, will close on April 30 due to sinkholes.
