The Boston Celtics remained undefeated on the longest road trip of the season with a win over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night, which also extended their current winning streak. Improving to their eighth consecutive win on their fifth of six road games, Boston defeated the Spurs 121-111 with a balanced effort throughout their lineup. The win would give the Celtics at least 55 wins for three straight seasons,
As a very common theme down the stretch this season, Boston dominated the boards and continued their success on the road with a 31-7 record. Jayson Tatum led the way for all scorers with 29 points, while adding 10 rebounds, and 8 assists on the night. Tatum would not be the only one who contributed in a big way, and now Boston will keep their hot streak momentum as they head to Memphis on Monday night.
Here's a quick recap of the Celtics 10-point victory on Saturday night.
Keys to the game:
Dominating the glass: Yet again this season, the Celtics dominated in the rebounds category, with a big contribution coming from Luke Kornet off the bench. Grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds against San Antonio, Kornet collected 7 of those on the offensive board, and Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick White all had at least eight rebounds in teh victory.
Balanced team effort: After Tatum, it was Luke Kornet and Jrue Holiday leading the way for the Celtics, showing that they don't always need their top superstars to carry the load. What is even more particularly important and impressive is that the Celtics' role players are starting to find their stride and exceeding expectations when called upon. Holiday finished the game with 21 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds, while Kornet had the aforementioned 16 rebounds to go along with 15 points.

What's next: @ Memphis Grizzlies, Monday, March 31, 7:30PM ET on TNT
Boston will look to not only keep their winning streak in tact, but also get revenge and split the season series against Memphis. Back in December, the Grizzlies picked up a six-point victory, but now the fifth seed in the West is in a bit of turmoil after firing head coach Taylor Jenkins who spent six seasons with the team. Dismissing their coach in the middle of a playoff chase is certainly not good for team morale, and the Grizzlies have lost two straight, and five of their last six games. With the red-hot Celtics coming to town, it should the difference in both franchises with the playoffs right around the corner.
