Brian Daboll calls audible, will join New York Giants contingent at Colorado pro day

The New York Giants began setting up their 2025 NFL draft board earlier this week, and it could become a bit clearer after Friday's pro day workout at the University of Colorado.

The Giants will be among the many (possibly all) NFL teams that send a large contingent to the event.

This is where two of this year's top prospects in the draft, Heisman Trophy-winning two-way star Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, will work out for a large group of executives, scouts, and coaches.

Head coach Brian Daboll was not initially expected to be in attendance, but things changed late in the week and he is now likely to join general manager Joe Schoen and many others from the organization, reports Art Stapleton.

And, in a change of plans, Daboll will be there on campus as well, an individual with knowledge of the situation told NorthJersey.com and The Record. He initially was not planning to attend, but the Giants wound up calling an audible.

This will be the first Pro Day for Daboll this offseason. He prefers private workouts for quarterbacks in particular, and the reasoning is that, for Pro Days, the script is put together by the player and typically a private throwing coach.

The Giants hold the third overall pick in this month's draft and will be looking at one of -- if not both -- Hunter and Sanders when they are on the clock at No. 3.

Most mocks have Sanders going to the Giants in Round 1, but a growing number have them selecting Hunter after the team signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

General manager Joe Schoen also recently left the door open for the Giants to pass on a quarterback at No. 3 outright.
