On March 28, the St. Louis Blues signed top prospect Jimmy Snuggerud to a three-year, entry-level contract. With this, the 2022 first-round pick is ready to begin his professional career with the Central Division club.
Snuggerud is coming off a fantastic collegiate season with the University of Minnesota. In 40 games as the club's captain, the 6-foot-2 forward posted career highs with 24 goals and 51 points. Due to his impressive offense and skill, there is a lot of hype surrounding him.
Now that Snuggerud has signed his entry-level deal, the Blues have announced what the youngster's number will be. Snuggerud sported No. 81 in college, but Dylan Holloway already has it taken. As a result, Snuggerud will wear No. 21 for the Blues.
No. 21 is pretty popular in Blues history, as Snuggerud will now be the 26th player in franchise history to rock it. The last player to do so was Tyler Bozak, who sported the number from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
