Bill Parcells reacts to being inducted into Patriots Hall of Fame

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Parcells reacted to the announcement that he will be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame. He spoke about receiving the honor on Tuesday.

Parcells served as the head coach and general manager for the Patriots from 1993-1996. The team had a 32-32 record during his time in that role.

Parcells led the Patriots to two playoff victories and a Super Bowl appearance. It was an impressive feat for a team coming off a 14-50 record in the previous four seasons combined before his arrival. Parcells set the tone for the culture shift for the coming years in New England.

“I wasn’t shocked, but I wasn’t anticipating it, either. ...He just got on the phone, told me what he was going to do," Parcells said on Patriots owner Robert Kraft, via Mass Live's Karen Guregian. "We had a very pleasant conversation. I told him I appreciated it very much. I’m humbled and very appreciative. I like New England. I had two tours of duty there. I liked being there very much. It’s a special place.”

Parcells going into the Patriots Hall of Fame is just another reminder of how many legendary coaches came through the building. From Parcells to Pete Carroll, to Bill Belichick, it has been a revolving door of elite coaches in New England.

Fans can only hope that Mike Vrabel is the next on that list.
