All in bloom: Wednesday's top 12 high school sports performances include a no-hitter

Springs ports are in full bloom. These 12 high school athletes ensured their teams started strong with a victory Wednesday.

Niko Andrews, AMSA boys lacrosse

He notched six points with three goals and three assists in a 10-5 win over St. Bernard's. Chace Lozano added two goals and an assist for the Eagles (1-1), and Hunter Hatstat contributed a goal and two assists.

Finn Bell, Wayland boys volleyball

He amassed 34 kills, 12 digs, four blocks and three aces in a 3-2 win over BC High. Zach O'Donnell distributed 48 assists with four kills and four aces for the Warriors (2-2) in the 25-15, 15-25, 25-11, 23-25, 15-13 win. Wayland's Mason Lee added 12 digs, seven kills and four aces.

Max Boehm, Wellesley baseball

He threw a shutout with eight strikeouts and just two hits in an 8-0 win over Milton. Cam Lynch doubled and drove in two runs for the Raiders (1-0, 1-0 Bay State Conference). Wellesley's Will Webster (three hits) and Jack O'Grady (two hits) had an RBI each.

She went 4-for-5 with two triples, a double and three RBIs for the Blue Raiders in a 24-0 win over Whitinsville Christian in five innings. Hopedale's Kenzie Reynolds added five hits and two RBIs, while Layden MacDonald was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Hopedale's Bella Federico, Delaney Vaillette and Maddie DiMaio each homered.

Preston Cote, Algonquin baseball

He struck out nine batters and walked just one in a no-hitter for the Titans, who beat St. Paul 12-0 in five innings to open the season. Algonquin's Cam Citro doubled twice and drove in a run, and Ethan Chan (RBI) and Thomas Boudreau each had two hits. Michael Chiocco had two RBI's for the Titans.
