49ers among cap space leaders as 2025 NFL draft nears

It's been a slow offseason of acquisitions for the San Francisco 49ers thus far.

The 49ers have brought in several notable free agents such as wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, tight end Luke Farrell and quarterback Mac Jones who figures to slot in as the backup behind franchise signal-caller Brock Purdy.

But, San Francisco also released defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and defensive end Leonard Floyd, watched cornerback Charvarius Ward and linebacker Dre Greenlaw sign elsewhere and traded away wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

With these series of moves, the 49ers moved their 2025 dead money figure to $80.9 million as the franchise looked to move on from some of its aging, veteran contracts.
