Where do Colts rank in total 2025 NFL draft capital value and how does it impact them?

Where do the Indianapolis Colts rank in terms of draft capital value in the 2025 NFL draft, and how does that impact their approach?

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports recently ranked all 32 NFL teams by their total draft capital value. In short, each selection is assigned a numerical value--the higher the overall pick, the higher the points--and the team's respective point total is determined by the combined value of their picks.

When it comes to the Colts, as they often do in many things, they rank right about in the middle at 15th.

The Colts will enter the draft with seven selections--one in each round--and they'll be picking roughly in the middle of each of those rounds as well.

The Colts addressed two massive needs in free agency by signing safety Cam Bynum and cornerback Charvarius Ward. However, they still have several other pressing needs that exist, including at tight end, the offensive line, defensive line, and linebacker. Not to mention that running back and secondary depth could still be on their radar as well.

But given the number of picks and overall draft capital value they have, tackling those more pressing needs with the resources available won't be easy--at least not in terms of finding some immediate impact help at those positions.

So this very well could be a draft where we see GM Chris Ballard move back in the first round, especially since the general consensus seems to be that the strength of this year's draft is in the 20-60 pick range.

Trading back will give the Colts an additional top 100 selection, providing them with an additional opportunity to find some more instant help, which they could use at a few different positions.
