Jacksonville Jaguars rank among best in 2025 NFL draft capital value

The Jacksonville Jaguars land in the 'top tier' when it comes to 2025 NFL draft capital value.

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports recently ranked all 32 NFL teams by their total draft capital value. In short, each selection is assigned a numerical value--the higher the overall pick, the higher the points--and the team's respective point total is determined by the combined value of their picks.

So, when it comes to the Jaguars, not surprisingly, they rank among the best because not only are they picking at the front end of most rounds, but they have 10 total selections as well.

In Edwards' rankings, the Jaguars came in at fifth overall with 840.14 points. At the top is Tennessee, followed by Cleveland, the New York Giants, and New England.

"Jacksonville sits at No. 5 overall, in addition to having at least one pick in each of the draft's seven rounds, including four in the top 100 overall," wrote Edwards.

The Jaguars were quite active in free agency, making 10 outside additions within the first week. As GM James Gladstone described, his goal in free agency was to raise the floor of the Jaguars' roster.

However, free agency is not the primary way that he wants to build this team. Instead, he wants to lean heavily on the draft when it comes to constructing the roster--an opportunity that Gladstone will have in Year 1 as general manager.

"We'll be a build through the draft-oriented team," said Gladstone. "We'll still supplement through free agency and both will be a part of what brings this roster to life. But with the idea that we have 20 draft selections at our disposal over the next two years, I think fans can expect that's where we'll put a large piece of our energy and expect to see a lot of our success in the future come from."
