30 prospects in 30 days: Notre Dame’s Morrison poised for NFL despite injury setback

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison was ballhawk in the Irish secondary, His nine career interceptions ranks second among Notre Dame players since 1996.

“I think I’m just a versatile corner,” said Morrison. “I think I’m a productive corner. The NFL is about productivity and to get the ball. I think if you look at my stats I was a very productive corner. I’m around the ball and it’s not coincidence I have those type of numbers. So I think that’s the biggest thing I showed.”

Those number would have been even more impressive but his 2024 season was cut short due to a hip injury that required surgery. After only playing six games, Morrison said he learned some valuable lessons from the setback.

“I think for me it’s just like ‘you’ve been dealt this hand this year how are you gonna respond?'” said Morrison. “I can’t allow it to defeat me. I got to come out on top and it just grew the love of the game for myself because being on the sideline it’s a little different. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t envious my teammates were out there playing the national championship. I mean as a competitor that’s what you want to do. That’s why you work in the offseason so hard.”

Morrison has been cleared by doctors and will be ready to take the field following the draft. Now healthy, he’s turning his attention to what he needs to work on.

“I definitely need to improve when my hands on top of the route,” said Morrison. “I know I got good feet but I need to start using them and activating them more. You can kind of get lazy and use your hands on top of the route and grab a place you shouldn’t grab. So I understand I can be classified as a little handsy corner but in due time that will be fixed.”

Benjamin Morrison is projected to be a 2nd round pick.
