The Oklahoma Sooners and head coach Porter Moser have another offseason retooling on their hands. But they're off to a strong start in the transfer portal, earning a commitment from Notre Dame transfer forward Tae Davis.
Davis, who just finished his junior season for the Fighting Irish, averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in 2024-2025. In nonconference play against Houston, Davis scored 22 points, pulled down eight rebounds, and added four assists. He was 9 of 15 from the floor in 37 minutes against one of the best teams in the nation.
He had 17 games of 15 points or more last season as the second-leading scorer for the Fighting Irish. Davis shot 47.6% from the floor and 30.2% from three. Last year, he shot 72.4% from the free throw line.

It's an important addition for the Sooners, who are losing key frontcourt players Sam Godwin, Jalon Moore, Yaya Keita, Luke Northweather, and Mohamed Wague. The Sooners have former four-star forward Kuol Atak on the roster, and four-star forward Kai Rogers will be joining OU for the 2025-2026 season.
Oklahoma will need to find a way to replace the big-time scoring efforts from true freshman Jeremiah Fears, who's off to the NBA. Moser and the Sooners have a big offseason ahead, and the addition of Davis is a great start.
