The Tennessee Titans have ended their search for the number one pick as the 2025 NFL draft now likely starts with the Cleveland Browns.
The Titans reportedly canceled their upcoming private workout with quarterback Shedeur Sanders after meeting with Sanders at the University of Colorado’s pro day. The Titans have been linked to quarterback Cam Ward since the NFL combine ended. If the Titans are canceling meetings with other prospects, then Ward must be their guy.
The trip to Colorado wasn’t fruitless for the Browns. Head coach Deion Sanders believes the Browns will walk away from the draft with one of his former players. The Browns sent their entire organization to witness the Buffaloes’ pro day. The Browns are deciding between Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter. While the Browns were heavily linked to Carter at the start of the offseason, insiders report that Hunter will be the second pick.
It’s hard to gauge where the Browns are leaning. The front office needs a big win in the draft to help restore the franchise after the disastrous trade for Deshaun Watson. The group is a tight-lipped bunch that rarely speaks to the media. The team could create a smoke screen around the second pick to drive up interest in a trade. Sanders is a potential franchise quarterback, while Hunter and Carter are blue-chip prospects.
The Browns could use the extra picks in their draft war chest. The Browns have plenty of time to decide what to do with their second pick now that the Titans are all in on Cam Ward.
