Harris wins Vermont
Vice President Harris is projected to win Vermont, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.
The Democratic presidential nominee is expected to clinch the state’s three Electoral College votes; 270 votes are needed for Harris or former President Trump to win the White House.
Harris had the backing of the state’s two senators, Bernie Sanders (I) and Peter Welch (D).
Harris’s win was widely expected. The Hill and Decision Desk HQ’s model had given Harris more than a 99 percent chance of carrying the Green Mountain State. Vermont notably hasn’t voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988.
