Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - How To Get Guns And Ammo
Imagine a heavily armored knight charging at you from a distance in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Think of all the years this person must have spent training and honing their craft to become the best warrior in a castle. Consider all the glorious duels they've won and all the grueling battles they've participated in. Next, imagine yourself pointing a pistol at their face and pulling the trigger. It's not just the end of that knight. It's also the advent of a new era. Here's our guide on how to get a gun in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.
Where to find guns in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Hand cannons and ammo guide
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set in 15th-century Bohemia. It's a time when gunpowder was an exotic material and firearms were but experimental weaponry mentioned in tall tales from faraway lands. Still, the awe-inspiring power of the gun, as seen in this game, is but a prelude to some of the darkest periods in our modern history.
The Finger of God quest
To get your first gun in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you need to progress further into the campaign until you get a quest called Finger of God. After Godwin saves Henry and Hans at Nebekov Fortress, they have a chat to plan their next moves. As Henry, you need to follow Godwin so you can bury the dead. Once this is done, another soldier demonstrates a curious-looking contraption known as a Pistole--i.e. hand cannon. Henry can train with this weapon at the yard before the quest concludes.
Should you even use a gun?
This really depends on your playstyle and the situation at hand. Firearms are extremely inaccurate, more so than bows and crossbows. The reloading animation also takes an excruciating amount of time. However, a single well-placed shot to the torso of a knight wearing full plate armor is enough to put him down.
The idea is to have your gun reloaded and ready before combat. Then, when you do engage a foe in battle, look for the one with the sturdiest armor--i.e. basically the tank of the party. Aim and shoot to take them out permanently, and don't bother to reload your firearm. Just switch to your melee weapon to take care of the other hostiles.
Where to find additional guns?
You can get more guns in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by purchasing them from an NPC named Prokop Eldris. This fella can be found in the southeastern part of Kuttenberg, fairly close to one of the fast travel point.
Eldris' wares include Hook Guns and Marksman's Hook Guns, as well as Gunsmith kits and crafting supplies. He can also repair your firearms for a fee.
How to craft ammo?
If you need ammo in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, your best bet is to craft the item. But first, you need to learn the recipe:
- You can buy the recipes for Lead Shot Gunpowder and Scattershot Gunpowder from the apothecary shop at Kuttenberg.
- Alternatively, you can proceed further into the campaign until you get a main quest called Via Argentum. There, you'll head down a mine shaft and meet a fellah named Buresh. After Buresh is gone, search the chests for these recipes.
- Upon learning the recipes, you can craft ammo via an Alchemy table.
Lead Shot Gunpowder
- Base: Water
- Grind 1x Saltpeter and 1x Sulfur and add these to the cauldron.
- Boil for two turns.
- Grind 1x Charcoal and add to the cauldron.
- Boil for two turns.
- Pour the contents into a mortar and grind with a pestle.
Scattershot Gunpowder
- Base: Water
- Grind 1x Saltpeter and 1x Sulfur and add these to the cauldron.
- Boil for three turns.
- Grind 1x Infused Charcoal and add to the cauldron.
- Boil for one turn.

That does it for our guide on how to get a gun in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Looks like it's time for Bohemian blasts and booms with your new weaponry.
