Who are some of the area boys to watch for track and field this season?

Oak Harbor senior Tyler Thompson was seventh in the 100 at 11.14 seconds and 200 at 22.60 at state last season.

Lakota senior Braxton Quaintance was second in the pole vault at 15 feet and Clyde senior Damarius Chrisman was fourth in the 400 at 48.92. Mason Englund was second in the 110 hurdles at 14.50 and third in the high jump at 6 feet in the Northern Lakes League as a freshman for Fremont Ross.

The following boys join them as track and field athletes to watch in the area.

Thompson, senior Carson Ridener and juniors Wyatt Augsburger and Blake Nickel were seventh in the 4x200 at 1:30.05. Ridener, Augsburger, Nickel and junior Bodee Miller were ninth in preliminaries for the 4x400 at 3:25.99.

Augsburger was 11th in prelims for the 110 and 300 hurdles at 15.05 and 40.58, respectively. Junior Braden Schultz was 15th in the high jump at 6-feet, 2-inches.

Margaretta senior Tate Bailey and graduates Cooper Tigges, Miles James and Gage Bodey were third in the 4x200 at 1:30.15. Bailey, Tigges, Bodey and graduate Kaine Smetzer were third in the 4x100 at 43.37.

Bailey was eighth in the long jump at 21-00.75. Senior Caiden Fultz was 16th in the 3,200 at 9:51.13 and junior Jake Bouy was 11th in the high jump at 6-02.

Old Fort senior Evan Combs didn't register a height in the pole vault.

Senior Jadrian Brown, juniors Tyress Brown and Stephen Reiter, and graduate Kameron Walker were first in the 4x200 at 1:28.88 as Ross won the NLL crown. Junior Evan Luc won the pole vault at 13-6.
