What LSU linebacker West Weeks said about the team's vibe during spring ball

Midway through spring camp, LSU football feels energized with the work ethic throughout the whole team.

Heading into his fourth season with the Tigers, West Weeks noticed a difference this time from all the other teams he's been a part of in Baton Rouge.

"I think it's just the energy of the team," Weeks said. "I feel like this is one of the most complete teams that we've had in all my time of being here."

it's not just because he has both of his brothers, fellow linebackers Whit and Zach, that West feels a family vibe in practices. The Tigers are ready for a College Football Playoff breakthrough under Brian Kelly after falling short in 2024.

Heading into Brian Kelly's fourth season at the helm of the program, LSU signed one of the top transfer portal classes in college football. According to 247Sports, LSU's transfer class ranks No. 2 in the country.

By bolstering both sides of the ball with experienced transfers along with getting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier back for a second season as the starter, the Tigers are considered real contenders for the SEC.

"I feel like everybody knows the goal and we know what we want and so we know what we have to do every day to go get that goal," Weeks said.
