In recognition of a strong start to the season, LSU baseball's Kade Anderson earned National Midseason Pitcher of the Year from Baseball America.
The left-hander emerged as the Tigers' ace and remained dominant through the start of SEC play. Anderson boasts a 2.85 ERA over 47.1 innings with 75 strikeouts to 12 walks. With a powerful four-pitch mix, he induces whiffs 49% of the time.
Anderson is coming off a career outing against then-No. 9 Oklahoma. He hurled a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and striking out 14. The showing cements the sophomore as one of the country's top arms and makes him a contender for multiple postseason awards.
With every dominant outing, Anderson increases his stock for the MLB Draft. He's projected to go within the first 50 picks in most mocks. Should he finish out the SEC slate in a similar fashion, Anderson could climb higher before July.
Anderson and the No. 3 Tigers head to Auburn for another top-10 SEC matchup. They'll look to build upon a 10-2 conference record and stay within the top five nationally.
Kade Anderson has climbed draft boards with each dominant outing this spring.
