Updated Mar. 21 West playoff standings as Thunder host Hornets
The Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched the first seed. Not surprising considering they've held a double-digit game lead in the standings for most of the season.
The Thunder hosts the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is back after a four-day break between games. The MVP candidate will get a chance to help his case against one of the league's worst teams who are on the second night of a back-to-back.
Less than a month remains in the 2024-25 regular season. Even though the Thunder aren't involved, plenty of heated races for seeding have ramped up as the margin for error gets thinner. Thunder Wire will conduct daily updates on the West's standings until the season ends:
What happened last night?
Warriors 117, Raptors 114: The Warriors survived a scare against the Raptors but all eyes are on Stephen Curry. A nasty fall cut his night short with a pelvis injury. Golden State holds its breath and hopes its franchise star doesn't miss serious time with the injury.
Bulls 128, Kings 116: In a matchup against their old squad, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan couldn't get a much-needed win over the Bulls. Coby White had 35 points to lead Chicago to the win after being down by double-digit points at one point.
Bucks 118, Lakers 89: The Bucks did the Thunder a solid. Their blowout over the short-handed Lakers officially clinched the West's top seed for them. Los Angeles was without LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Most teams won't win a game without their best three players.
