Guard Trey Green, who played two seasons for the Xavier Musketeers before entering the transfer portal in March, announced Friday night via Twitter/X that he's committed to St. Louis University to play for head coach Josh Schertz and the Billikens.
"Xavier Nation - thank you for everything!" Green tweeted. "Xavier gave my first opportunity and I am forever grateful for that. This fanbase is one of a kind that bleeds Xavier blue. Thank you for showing me what a true fanbase looks like, no love lost ever for the Queen City. … Thank you."
Green reportedly had early interest from SMU, TCU, Creighton and others.
Green played in just nine games as a sophomore this past season, averaging 5.0 points. His final game for the Muskies was Dec. 5 at TCU.
As a freshman, Green played in 33 games, averaging 5.6 points in 13.5 minutes per game. He did not start.
Green made 26 of his 27 free-throw attempts in two seasons for XU.
SLU finished the season 19-15 overall, 11-7 in the Atlantic-10. The Billikens' season ended March 18 with an NIT first-round loss to Arkansas State.
