Tim Hasselbeck thinks Cam Ward is 'a very good fit' for Titans

We're finally in April, the same month as the NFL draft. The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the Tennessee Titans have the number-one overall pick. The decision on which player to draft would be easier for the Titans if they had only one need to fill, but this team is more than one player away from being competitive. Still, the quarterback position is an area of opportunity, which is why NFL Insiders, analysts, and experts all predict that the Titans will keep that top pick and draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

The latest person to suggest this is what the Titans should do is former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck.

"I do because I think that when you look at him from his days in college, he's going to leave there with nearly 2400 pass attempts. Just for a little perspective on it, Anthony Richardson left college with about 390. So, in terms of time on task, playing the toughest position in sports, there's a lot of evidence of Cam Ward making the people around him better. There's also a lot of evidence showing him as an elite thrower. And then I think when you look at Brian Callahan, what they want to do in Tennessee in terms of how they're going to build it, and how they're going to build it with the offensive line, and what they're going to do with the offense, and his confidence and the ability to coach the position, yeah, I do think it's a very good fit."

Hasselbeck went a step further in his evaluation of Ward, saying that he makes everyone around him better and that he thinks Ward is a good fit in Tennessee. The biggest thing we've heard about Ward going to the Titans is that he's the best quarterback available in the draft, so they should just take him because they need a quarterback. But what about the fit? How a player fits within an organization plays a huge role in their success, something a former professional quarterback understands better than most.

The Titans remain open to offers at the top spot, but the likelihood of them accepting anything is slim. They are increasingly impressed with Cam Ward and every sign points to them drafting him.
