Three signings Real Madrid are prioritising to strengthen the squad – report
Real Madrid are already setting their sights on key reinforcements for the upcoming season, and according to Fichajes, the club has identified three primary targets—Martin Zubimendi, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dean Huijsen.
With the 2025-2026 campaign in mind, the Spanish giants are looking to strengthen their squad in multiple positions.
Among the potential arrivals, Zubimendi is considered a priority signing for Real Madrid. The midfielder, who has been a standout performer for Real Sociedad, is widely regarded for his ability to dictate play and provide defensive stability.
At 26 years old, Zubimendi has already proven his worth in La Liga and has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Arsenal.
However, Real Madrid believe he would be a crucial addition, especially given the need to bolster the midfield with players who can sustain the team’s high level of performance.
Strengthening defence with experience and youth
While midfield is a primary area of focus, Real Madrid are also keen on reinforcing their defensive lineup. Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged as a key target for the right-back position.
With his contract expiring soon, Madrid see an opportunity to bring in a player known for his attacking contributions, pinpoint crosses, and set-piece ability.
Meanwhile, Dean Huijsen, a young centre-back currently with Bournemouth, is also on the club’s radar.
Despite his young age, the highly rated defender has impressed with his composure, game-reading ability, and physical presence.
Madrid view him as a strategic investment for the future, someone who can develop alongside the club’s established defenders and eventually cement his place in the starting lineup.
With these three signings, Real Madrid aim to build a more complete and competitive squad capable of challenging for every major trophy.
By blending experienced stars with emerging talents, the club is taking steps to ensure long-term success and maintain its status as one of football’s most formidable forces.
