Real Madrid caught in three-way battle with Liverpool and Arsenal for 19-year-old Ajax talent
Real Madrid are preparing for a crucial transfer window as they look to reinforce multiple areas of their squad and after dealing with a season full of injuries, they are determined to make necessary additions, ensuring depth and quality across all positions.
While midfield reinforcements remain a priority, the focus has also shifted towards strengthening the defence.
One of the key names on Real Madrid’s radar is Jorrel Hato, a highly-rated centre-back making waves at Ajax.
Regarded as one of the finest talents to emerge from the Netherlands in recent years, Hato has caught the attention of top European clubs.
However, as reported by Real Madrid Confidencial, Los Blancos are not the only ones keen on securing his services, as Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal have also entered the race.
Wanted across Europe
Both English clubs are prepared to push aggressively for Hato’s signature, making the competition fierce.
Despite this, Real Madrid remain confident that they can put together a convincing proposal to lure the Dutch defender to the Santiago Bernabeu.
With the summer transfer window still months away, the club is exploring its options and formulating a strategy to beat their rivals in the negotiations.
Why Jorrel Hato?
Hato’s defensive skills, composure on the ball, and aerial dominance have made him an appealing prospect for Real Madrid.
His ability to handle pressure and his determination to win fit the club’s philosophy perfectly. With a lack of young, top-tier centre-backs in the current squad, securing a player of his calibre is seen as a key objective.
Ajax are aware of the growing interest in their young star, and despite his contract running until 2028, they have not completely ruled out his departure.
This has opened the door for a potential transfer battle, leaving Real Madrid with the challenge of overcoming Liverpool and Arsenal in the race.
Real Madrid are optimistic
While Real Madrid are optimistic about their chances, the presence of multiple suitors could complicate negotiations.
A bidding war could drive up Hato’s price, forcing the Spanish giants to act swiftly and strategically to avoid losing out on their target.
So as the battle for his signature intensifies, it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid can outmanoeuvre their competition and bring the Dutch talent to La Liga.
