Real Madrid’s 17-year-old wonderkid emerges as top target for Como
According to an update from MARCA, Cesc Fabregas’ Como are keeping a close eye on young Real Madrid academy full-back Jesus Fortea as they prepare for the next season.
It must be noted that the Italian club has shown a growing interest in securing promising talent from Valdebebas, and Fortea has emerged as their latest target.
Como have already made a successful move in the past when they managed to bring in Nico Paz from Real Madrid’s youth setup.
However, despite being part of the Italian club’s squad, the Argentine midfielder remains under Real Madrid’s control.
Both Como and Inter Milan have been eager to make Nico a permanent signing, but Los Blancos have held firm on their stance regarding his future.
Eyes on Fortea
Now, Fabregas and his team are looking to repeat that success by targeting Fortea. The 17-year-old right-back is highly rated within Real Madrid’s academy and is seen as a player with a bright future.
His current contract with the club runs until 2026, and Real Madrid have already begun efforts to extend his stay. However, Fortea has decided to hold off on signing a new deal for now.
Instead of rushing into an agreement, he prefers to take his time and carefully assess the situation before making a final decision.
For the moment, negotiations have been put on hold as everyone waits to see how things unfold. One key factor influencing the situation is the structure of Real Madrid’s youth system and the distribution of coaching staff.
With potential changes in management at the academy level, Fortea is in no hurry to commit to a long-term contract.
Real Madrid respect the decision
Real Madrid respect the player’s decision to wait, although his hesitation has raised some concerns internally. While the club remains committed to securing a renewal, they are also keeping their options open.
If an agreement cannot be reached, they would be willing to listen to offers for the young defender. However, their first choice remains to extend his contract and keep him as part of their future plans.
