The Lions bring back DE Al-Quadin Muhammad for another season
The string of Detroit Lions free agent re-signings continues. Per his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, the Lions are bringing DE AL-Quadin Muhammad back into the den for another season.
Muhammad, who turns 30 later in March, provided a spark to the pass rush in Detroit's injury-ravaged 2024 campaign. In nine games, Muhammad bagged one sack and 29 total tackles in just over 250 defensive snaps. At 6-foot-3 and 250 listed pounds, he's exclusively played as a pass-rushing end in Detroit.
It was a redemptive season for Muhammad, who went from a starter with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 into career limbo. Two suspensions from the NFL for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy caused Muhammad to bounce from team to team without any traction until the Lions added him following an unsuccessful tryout with the Cowboys last summer.
Terms are not yet available, but it's reported to be a one-year contract for 2025 for Muhammad.
