The Giants can 'go in any direction' at No. 3 overall, including Jaxson Dart?

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen did a fine job at keeping everyone guessing about what the Giants are looking to do with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. During his press briefing at the NFL meetings in Palm Beach, Schoen left pretty much every door open for the Giants to walk through.

"We're in a position where we can take who we think is the best football player at that time," Schoen told reporters.

New York sorely needs a long-term solution at quarterback. And while the Giants are often linked with Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, there is a growing school of thought that Schoen and the Giants could pivot toward Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.

At least one Giants insider believes Dart could be in play, though not necessarily at the No. 3 spot. ESPN's Jordan Ranaan reports that the team is showing interest in the Ole Miss signal-caller,

It leaves doubt whether Sanders is that guy in the Giants' eyes or whether that quarterback exists in the second or third round. If New York passes on a quarterback with its first pick, the team could trade into the back end of the first round or look for a quarterback on Day 2.

The Giants have been doing a lot of work on Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart in recent weeks, a source told ESPN.

Dart remains consistently projected in the first round, and there have been a few recent mock drafts from national outlets that have him in the top-10 overall. While many analysts scoff at the notion that Dart can go that high with his limited track record against good defenses and the Rebels' simplistic offense, quarterback thirst makes teams do some strange things...like taking Daniel Jones in the first round.
