Shedeur Sanders going at No. 3 overall seems less likely after NFL owners meetings

Many view Shedeur Sanders as a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL draft, but his likely destination has become murky over the last few weeks.

Sanders has been mocked to the New York Giants for most of the draft runup, but after it was reported last week that Sanders has workouts scheduled with the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, the Giants appeared to have fallen down the totem pole.

According to reports, at the annual NFL owners' meeting, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said that the Giants might pass on picking a quarterback and instead opt for one of the top defensive players, perhaps even Sanders's Colorado teammate Travis Hunter.

The Giants passing on a quarterback would not necessarily be surprising, considering how mock drafters have been fading the Giants' likelihood of selecting a signal caller.

Perhaps Schoen was just postering, and the Giants will select a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick, or maybe the New York brass really does not see a true franchise-changing quarterback in this year's draft class.

After signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the New York Giants are among the wildcards in the top 10; they could select the best player available or draft their franchise quarterback.

April 24 can't come soon enough when the Titans will be on the clock and the 2025 NFL draft will get rolling.
