The Gargasz brothers shined early at the Morgan Invitational | Top Performers

McCONNELSVILLE — The Gargasz boys wasted no time in announcing their presence with authority to the local track scene on Saturday.

Tri-Valley senior Chris Gargasz reached 55-10 in the shot put and kid brother Lucca Gargasz checked in at a school-record 22-5 in the long jump to highlight area performers at the annual Morgan Invitational at Raider Stadium.

Tri-Valley, which finished second of six teams behind Vincent Warren with 148 points, also saw Dalton Crozier win the 3200 (10:33.3), Kam Karns take the 110 high hurdles (:15.91) and Lucca Gargasz take the high jump (6-0). Chris Gargasz was second in the discus (148-2).

Morgan's Braylon Miller dominated in winning the 400 (:50.88) and also took the 100 (:11.28), while the Raiders' 4x200 relay won in 1:31.7. West Muskingum's Jaxon Prang won the 200 (:23.14), ran on the winning 4x100 relay (:43.76) and was second in the 100 (:11.38) and 400 (:51.99).

In the girls meet, Maysville's Bella Van Wey won the shot (37 1-1/2) and discus (114-3), Aaliyah Whitehair the 100 (:13.25) and Emma Tamasovich the long jump (16-11 1/2); Morgan's Ava Davis won the 200 (:27.50) and 400 (1:01.2) and Abigail Heigley won the pole vault (7-6) and Tri-Valley's Erin Hogue took the 1600 (5:41.7).

Molly Spiker was second in the 100 hurdles (:50.57), 300 hurdles (:50.57) and high jump (4-8) for West M.

Ridgewood relays shine at Newcomerstown: Three Ridgewood relays claimed wins at the 56th annual J.D. Milburn Relays at Lee Stadium, featuring seven teams.

Among local squadrons, Ridgewood's boys saw its 4x200 relay place first (1:34.6), Logan Zimmer win the high jump (6-0) and Logan Sesser claim the discus (51-10) and take second in the discus (136-3).

Coshocton's Logan Wince reached 20-10 1/4 to pace the field and was the team's only finisher in the top four of any event.

In the girls meet, Ridgewood's 4x100 (:51.17), 4x200 (1:49.0) and 800 sprint (1:54.9) relays were first, along with Jaelyn McQueen in the long jump (16-5). Addison Lahmers was second in the discus (91-1).

Coshocton's Gabriella Wesney was second in the shot (30-7).

Meadowbrook girls second at Joe Kasper: The host Colts tallied 81 points to Dover's 144 at the annual Joe Kasper Invitational, which also included Cambridge, Buckeye Trail and Rosecrans.

The 4x200 of Catherine Stoney, Angelika Maldonado-Santos, Nilsa Rivera and Kairi Marston won (1:53.46) to claim the Colts' lone title.

The 4x800 of Luceilia Casey, Grace Kackley, Marabelle Thornberry and Karrah Singleton came in second (10:28), along with the 4x100 of Aiana Mcconahay, Kaylee Minney, Avery Kerns and and Rivera (53.79).

Jamarcus Berger in the long jump (20-9 1/4) and 4x200 of Nick Norman, Gavin Mikeals, Dave Devillez and Jahyden Black (3:41.65) were second for the Colt boys.

Madie Beadle won the girls high jump (4-10), Zoey Caldwell claimed the 100 hurdles (:15.63) and 100 (13.18), the boys 4x200 of Taven Sloat, Anthony Lawrence, Cinjin Gibson and Tate Sikora were first (1:34.53) and Sikora finished second in the 200 (:23.77) for Cambridge.

Rosecrans' Titus Morrow was second in the boys pole vault (11-6) and Tizian Schmelzer broke his school record with a jump of 20-9 to place third inthe long jump; Ethan Resor came in second in the boys discus (130-2) and shot (46-5 1/2) to pace Buckeye Trail.
