If you're wondering, yes, that was FBI director Kash Patel who wasn't just at the Washington Capitals game in which Alex Ovechkin tied Wayne Gretzky's career goals record.
Turns out he got a ticket for the record-breaker on Sunday in which Ovechkin potted goal No. 895.
I do have a question: if Ovi hadn't scored on Sunday, would Patel have then gone to the Caps' game on Thursday at home against the Carolina Hurricanes? And if not then, would he have flown to Columbus for the Blue Jackets' contest?
We don't know. What we do know is he was there to congratulate Ovechkin and post about it:
Congrats to @ovi8 - new all time regular season record holder for goals scored. @WayneGretzky - Legends of the game, total class acts. Thank you gents and @NHL for giving us the greatest game on earth. What a time to be alive…
