Tennessee Titans cornerback L'Jarius Sneed is being sued by a Texas man who claims Sneed or Sneed's personal assistant fired shots at him while he sat in the parking lot of an exotic car dealership in December 2024, according to the Associated Press.
The AP reported that 23-year-old Christian Nshimiyimana, who was not hit by any of the bullets, is suing Sneed for at least $1 million after he said shots were fired at him from a Lamborghini Urus that was driving by One Legacy Motors on Dec. 6.
Nshimiyimana's attorney, Levi McCathern, said in a statement April 11 that Sneed, 28, and another person were arrested by the Carrollton (Texas) Police Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. McCathern said his client received a threatening phone call from Sneed and someone believed to be his mother after the shooting, warning him not to involve law enforcement.
“The proof is there,” McCathern said in a statement obtained by the Associated Press. “There is video surveillance from the dealership showing the car and the person who opened fire on Christian. We want to know why this happened. We’re thankful no one was shot, but we continue to search for the reason behind this incident.”
The AP reported that the Titans are "aware of the matter and have been in contact with NFL Security per league protocol," though McCathern said that did not happen until recently, long after the civil lawsuit was filed Feb. 20.
“It is clear that the Titans manage their players off the field just as they do on the field. No wonder they were the worst team in the NFL last year,” McCathern said.
The Titans, who tied for the worst record in the NFL last season at 3-14, have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which begins April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The Titans acquired Sneed, who won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 and 2023, via trade in March 2024. Because of a quad injury, he played just five games with the Titans last season after signing a four-year, $76.4 million contract.
