Last Saturday, the Army coaching staff hosted several prospects for the Junior Day event. However, the flow of 2026 talent that continues to make it to the academy … especially for the first time is eye catching.

For example, 2026 Linebacker prospect Michael Davis is a recruit to keep an eye on.

“I will be visiting Army on Saturday,” said Davis, who also holds offers from Arkansas, William & Mary, Appalachian State and UPenn.

“I got the offer from Army in March 4th and coach Danny Verpaele is handling my recruiting.

According to Davis, the Black Knights had been recruiting him prior to the actual offer.

“Yes sir they have … Coach Verpaele came to the school like a month before then told me about the program, then he called me on March 4th and asked me if I was interested … I said yessir and he offered me,” Davis explained.

The 6-foot-0, 220 pounder is out of Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia and is anxious to get on the historic grounds of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Looking Ahead

“Yes sir it will be my first visit and I’m looking forward to seeing the campus along with the facilities and meeting all the coaches,” stated Davis. “I feel like the visit is going to be great …meeting everyone.”

We will have more on Davis’ overall recruiting, along with his interest level in the Black Knights of Army following his upcoming unofficial visit to West Point on Saturday …. So stay-tuned.
