Spurs' Stephon Castle, Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher named Rookies of the Month for March

San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle and Atlanta Hawks forward Zaccharie Risacher have been named the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Rookies of the Month for March.

Castle averaged 19.5 points, 4.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and one steal on 45.6% shooting from the field in 17 games. He joined David Robinson, Tim Duncan and Victor Wembanyama as the only Spurs players to win the award multiple times after earning the honor in January.

The fourth pick led all first-year players in scoring, recording nine 20-point games in the month. He ranked first in free throws (70) and was the only rookie to make over 100 field goals (118).

Risacher became the first rookie to win in back-to-back months, averaging 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and one assist in 14 games. He is the only first-year player to average 16 points per game on 50% or better shooting from the field in a single month this season.

The No. 1 pick is coming off a career-high 36-point performance on Sunday in a win over the Milwaukee Bucks, becoming the 10th teenager in history to reach that mark in a game. He is the only rookie with three 30-point games this season.

Portland Trail Blazers center Donovan Clingan and Utah Jazz players Isaiah Collier and Kyle Filipowski were among those nominated for the award in the West.
