Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter latest NFL draft projections amid Derek Carr injury news

The first round of the NFL draft is less than two weeks away, which means mock drafters are ramping up their projections, hoping to nail down where the top draft prospects will land.

Coorado's star duo of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are projected top-10 picks and seem to have their likeliest draft landing spots narrowed down. Sanders visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday and was thoroughly impressed. Hunter seems like a lock to be a top 4 selection, with the Cleveland Browns currently the top option.

ESPN's Mel Kiper released his latest mock draft this week, and both of Colorado's stars are slated to go in the top 10.

Kiper has Hunter heading to the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 overall. The Browns choose Hunter over Penn State's Abdul Carter, but Hunter gets the nod due to his potential as a wide receiver. Kiper has Hunter as the top prospect in the draft and would immediately step into a Browns offense and be their best player.

Sanders falls out of the top 5 in Kiper's draft but lands with the New Orleans Saints at No. 9 overall. The Saints have been a popular pick for Sanders recently after Deion Sanders hinted at Colorado's pro day that he likes wearing black and gold.

New Orleans would be an excellent fit for Sanders. Newly hired head coach Kellen Moore could handpick his future quarterback. Furthermore, recent developments with Derek Carr's shoulder injury could put more pressure on the New Orleans office to draft a young quarterback.
