Scoreboard Watch For Thursday, April 3

The Columbus Blue Jackets haven't had to scoreboard-watch in April in a few years, but here we are.

Going into Thursday's games, the CBJ sits with 77 points, two points behind the Montréal Canadiens for the second wild card. Columbus is also seven points behind the Ottawa Senators for the first wild card. As a reminder, the CBJ and Sens play two more times before it's over. So, if the Jackets can win some games, well, anything can happen.

Tonight's Games That Matter:

Boston Bruins(69) vs. Montréal Canadiens(79) - Montréal holds the second wild card with the Blue Jackets and New York Rangers hot on their heels. Boston has lost six straight games, and there's no better time to bust out of a slump than now. The CBJ need you tonight, Boston.

Tampa Bay Lightning(93) vs. Ottawa Senators(84) - The Ottawa Senators hold the first wild card spot and are sitting pretty good, but the CBJ could use some help. The CBJ and Sens play two more times before the season's over, so those two games loom large. The Lightning are three points out of first in the Atlantic and need to win. It seems like every team is playing for something right now.

With all this going on, the Jackets need a major upset tonight against the Avs.

Up Next: The Blue Jackets play the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Nationwide Arena.
