Another former Vol from the Tony Vitello era will play in Major League Baseball.
The Rockies called up pitcher Chase Dollander from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. Colorado's top prospect made one start for the Isotopes, recording five strikeouts in four innings. He is projected to start for Colorado on Sunday against the Athletics.
Dollander joins former Tennessee teammates Jordan Beck and Seth Halvorsen as the third Vol from the Vitello era to play for Colorado.
Other players to play in MLB from Vitello's tenure include Garrett Crochet, Chase Silseth, Ben Joyce, Andre Lipcius and Trey Lipscomb.
Dollander was selected by Colorado in the first round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 9 overall). He played for the Vols from 2022-23 after transferring from Georgia Southern.
