Barrow head coach Andy Whing says he is encouraged by the improvements in his side during his time in charge.
The Bluebirds drew at home with Salford City to make it one defeat in seven games.
They remain 16th and are all but guaranteed a sixth consecutive season of League Two football.
"I really think we're heading in the right direction," he told BBC Radio Cumbria. "I'm really, really pleased with the improvement that has been going on lately."
Whing's challenge for the rest of this season and next is to make his side better in front of goal.
Only five teams have scored fewer in the division and the former Solihull Moors boss knows Barrow must become more clinical, with top scorer Theo Vassell currently on seven.
"To get where we want to, we have to have more prolific goalscorers within our team," said Whing.
"The last four or five weeks, we have created loads of chances and we need to be better in terms of putting those away and we need to be more ruthless in the final third."
