Rams WR Puka Nacua ranked No. 1 in yards per route run in three categories in 2024

Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua is only entering his third season but he's already established himself as one of the young pass-catchers in the NFL.

Not only has be finished with at least 900 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons, but he's been one of the most reliable target for Matthew Stafford on four specific routes. Per The 33rd Team, Nacua ranked first or second in yards per route run in 2024 against man or zone coverage. He also finished No. 1 in yards per route run from the slot and from out wide this past season:

  • Nacua vs. Man: 3.85 yards per route run (second)
  • Nacua vs. Zone: 3.64 yards per route run (first)
  • Nacua from the slot: 3.56 yards per route run (first)
  • Nacua from out wide: 3.55 yards per route run (first)

This is an impressive list to be on considering the other players around him. A.J. Brown and Ja'Marr Chase have been two of the best receivers in the league over the past few years, while Nico Collins emerged as a top-flight receiver recently and Brian Thomas Jr. finished third in receiving yards as a rookie.

Not only will Nacua continue to catch passes from Stafford in 2025, but he'll also have Davante Adams alongside him as someone who can also attract defensive backs and also give Nacua a teammate to play off of. Nacua is only in Year 3 but could continue to put his stamp on the NFL.
