Rams hosting Texas A&M DL Shemar Turner for official pre-draft visit

Even with Kobie Turner, Poona Ford and Braden Fiske projected to be the Rams’ starting defensive linemen, there’s still room for depth in Los Angeles. The Rams could select at least one defensive lineman in the draft this month and it seems they’re eyeing a standout Texas A&M prospect on Day 2.

According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com, the Rams are hosting Shemar Turner for an official pre-draft visit. The Rams are one of several teams bringing him in for a visit, with the Cardinals and Cowboys among the others.

Turner is projected to be a second- or third-round pick in the draft so Los Angeles could target him on Day 2.

Texas A&M defensive tackle Shemar Turner visited the Texans and has also visited the Dallas Cowboys, according to a league source.

Turner also has visits with the New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona Cardinals.

Turner started 12 games for the Aggies last season, recording 36 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks. He was second-team All-SEC in 2023 when he had six sacks and 10.5 tackles for a loss in 12 starts.

He's a versatile defensive lineman who can play on the outside or move inside as a 3-tech defensive tackle, giving whichever team drafts him multiple options up front.
