Raiders Position Assessment: Breaking down the Las Vegas WR group

With the NFL Draft less than a month away, it’s time to check in on the Raiders’ wide receiver position to give it a condition of either Strong, Stable, Unstable, Serious, or Critical.

Starters: Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker, ??

Backups: Kyle Philips, Ramel Keyton, DJ Turner, Tyreik McAllister, Jeff Foreman, Kristian Wilkerson, Alex Bachman, Shedrick Jackson

Condition: Critical

Before all is said and done, this may not be the final group the Raiders head into the draft with. Though all the top free agent options area all gone, there are a few still out there, some with ties to the Raiders. But as of now, the above group is it. Which is to say no true number one and not even a viable number three starter.

Draft projection

Now that the Raiders found their QB in Geno Smith. they could turn to receive atop the draft. Even if they do sign a veteran free agent. What they could really use is a big X receiver. The most obvious of those in a somewhat thin wide receiver class is Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan. Should they pass on taking him at sixth overall, there are some decent options they could look at on day two. But getting a starting caliber receiver high in this draft should be a priority.
