Predicting Indianapolis Colts' 2025 starting offense after free agency
With the dust having settled on free agency, what might the Indianapolis Colts starting offense look like in 2025?
Now, of course, the caveat here is that the NFL draft still has to take place, and whether it will be on offense or defense, some additional contributors will still be added to the roster.
But given what we know now, along with some educated guesses, let's predict who is on the field on offense for the Colts come Week 1.
Quarterback: Anthony Richardson
It's an open competition for the Colts starting quarterback job, but until we get into the weeds of training camp and the preseason and see how things are unfolding, this is still Richardson's job. We saw Richardson elevate his game last season after being benched, and it is in the Colts' best interest that he does that again this summer.
Running back: Jonathan Taylor
An obvious choice here. The big question at running back is who will the backup be? Will it be Khalil Herbert or perhaps someone who's selected in the NFL draft?
Tight end: Colston Loveland
The Colts' starting tight end isn't on the roster yet. So we are very much making a guess here. I think that Tyler Warren will be off the board when the Colts are on the clock at pick 14 and Loveland then becomes an option for them.
Offensive line: LT Bernhard Raiman, LG Quenton Nelson, C Tanor Bortolini, RG Matt Goncalves, RT Braden Smith
With losing Will Fries some shuffling is going to have to take place. Goncalves has been a tackle during his college and early NFL career, but GM Chris Ballard did mention after drafting him that he believes he can play guard as well. Adding depth at guard and tackle are still two needs that remain.
Wide receiver: Michael Pittman, Josh Downs, Alec Pierce
A pretty straightforward position group. AD Mitchell will be worked in as well, as he hopefully takes a step forward in his second season, but Pittman, Downs, and Pierce still likely see the bulk of the snaps.
