Power rankings: Buffalo Bills drop, but rank high in latest ESPN poll

The Buffalo Bills sit well in ESPN's current NFL power rankings but the team did drop.

Following the first wave of the NFL's free agency window in 2025, the Bills have landed in the fourth-overall spot in ESPN's latest poll. Previously, the team was in second.

When free agency began, Buffalo did attract a few promising players.

On defense, veteran pass rusher Joey Bosa ink a one-year deal. It will be curious to see where the offense can go with quarterback Josh Allen throwing the ball to receiver Josh Palmer as well.

Despite those adds, one team did jump the Bills and another stood pat and Buffalo fell below them. The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles jumped to second, meanwhile, the Detroit Lions stayed in third.

ESPN broke down every team's "under-the-radar move" of the offseason in their power rankings which can be found below:

The Bills made a variety of moves to retain their own, and keeping Johnson on a two-year deal benefits the offense as a whole and gives the team some insurance in 2026. Johnson complemented James Cook, along with rookie Ray Davis, and earned a role as the team's go-to third-down running back. Cook will be a free agent next offseason, so it benefits the team to have another member of the room under contract for multiple years.
