Potential Sixers 2nd round picks battle it out in Final Four matchup

The Philadelphia 76ers are in a position nobody expected when the 2024-25 season began: battling for lottery odds in order to keep their top 6 protected pick.

While the Sixers won't know about that pick until the lottery on May 12, they do know they will have a second-round pick which will land somewhere in the early 30s. In Saturday's first Final Four matchup, there were a couple of potential second-round picks on display in the Florida vs. Auburn matchup.

Auburn big man Johni Broome and Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. are two players who could be available in Round 2. Although, with the way Clayton has played in this tournament, it would make sense that his draft stock would rise into Round 1.

Broome had 15 points and seven rebounds while Clayton had 34 points while knocking down five triples in a 79-73 win for Florida. The Gators will now advance to Monday's national title game in San Antonio.

The Sixers could use either player on their roster. Broome is a bruiser who has a soft touch around the basket. Clayton is a gamer who can score from anywhere on the floor with ice in his veins.
