After LSU baseball lost to Auburn on Friday night, the Tigers took the field on Saturday with the series on the line. LSU took the lead in the first inning but Auburn fought back, winning game two and taking the series.
In the top of the second inning, LSU got on the board when Steven Milam hit a solo shot to put LSU up 1-0. Anthony Eyanson got the start on the mound for the Tigers. He kept Auburn off the board until the bottom of the fourth inning when Auburn scored two runs to take its first lead of the ball game at 2-1.

In the bottom of the fifth, Auburn hit a two-run shot against Eyanson to extend its lead to 4-1. That would be the end of his day as he exited the game after five full innings.
He gave up four earned runs on six hits, five strikeouts, and a walk. At the top of the seventh, LSU loaded the bases with two outs, and Ethan Frey came to the plate. Jay Johnson decided to bring Jake Brown in to hit. Brown hit a flyout to center and we headed to the bottom of the seventh with Auburn leading 4-1.
Conner Ware entered the game to pitch after Eyanson and he pitched 1.1 innings and did not allow any runs on zero hits, two strikeouts, and a walk. Connor Benge entered to pitch after him and he did not allow any runs on zero hits, zero strikeouts, and zero walks in 0.2 innings of work.
In the top of the eighth inning, LSU put runners on the corners with only one out and Tanner Reaves hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-2. Chris Stanfield flew out and Curiel grounded out to get Auburn out of the inning.

As we headed to the top of the ninth, LSU needed two runs to keep the game alive. LSU was unable to get anyone on base and Auburn took this one 4-2.
With the loss, LSU falls to 31-5 overall and 10-4 in conference play. The final game of the series is scheduled to start on Sunday at 2 PM.
