On3’s No. 1 Safety Bralan Womack Schedules Key Spring Visits, Texas A&M Making Strong Push
Bralan Womack, the top-ranked safety in the 2026 recruiting class according to On3, has set key return visits this spring as he nears a major decision in his recruitment. The elite defender from Hartfield Academy (Flowood, Miss.) is one of the most sought-after defensive backs in the country, and his recruitment is heating up as he narrows his focus to four finalists: Texas A&M, Auburn, Ohio State, and Florida.
Bralan Womack is an advanced safety prospect who excels in all areas of the game, showcasing impressive size, versatility, athleticism, and football IQ. Following a dominant junior season that earned him Gatorade Mississippi Player of the Year honors, Womack continued to impress with a standout performance at the Navy All-American Bowl, where he seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. His ability to bait quarterbacks into making poor decisions from a split-field alignment, combined with his burst and ball skills, make him a dangerous threat in the secondary. Womack is equally effective in zone coverage, where his awareness stands out, and in man coverage, where his speed and fluidity allow him to handle pass catchers of all types.
Texas A&M has been making a strong push for Womack, who has scheduled an official visit to College Station on June 6. The Aggies, under head coach Mike Elko, are emphasizing defensive playmakers in their 2026 recruiting class, and Womack’s combination of size, speed, and ball-hawking ability makes him an ideal fit for their system. His ability to play in space and deliver punishing hits has drawn comparisons to some of the best safeties in recent years.
In addition to Texas A&M, Womack has official visits lined up with Florida on May 30, Auburn on June 13, and Ohio State on June 20. These visits will be crucial in determining which program secures his commitment. Each of his finalists has made him a priority, with Auburn looking to bolster its secondary, Ohio State pitching its NFL pipeline, and Florida focusing on defensive versatility.
While he's already a reliable run defender with the ability to bring ball carriers down, refining his technique in the open field will only make him even more dangerous. His experience as a wide receiver and return man also highlights his potential as a special teams ace, capable of both returning punts and helping in pursuit coverage. Womack is undoubtedly one of the top defensive prospects in the 2026 cycle, with the potential to thrive in various defensive schemes and emerge as a key playmaker for any College Football Playoff contender.
