Texas A&M will be without several 2024 starters during the spring football season
Texas A&M's 2025 spring season begins on Thursday afternoon, marking the first official practice this year for a team made up of returning veterans and a long list of transfer portal additions combined with the 2025 signees. On Wednesday afternoon, head coach Mike Elko, alongside two players, spoke to the media ahead of the first practice.
Off the bat, Elko discussed the players who would not be available this spring, including several starters from the 2024 season. Running back Le'Veon Moss, cornerback Tyreek Chappell, cornerback Jayvon Thomas, linebacker Scooby Williams, running back Amari Daniels and offensive lineman Ar'maj Reed-Adams will not be available over the next four weeks.
This list isn't shocking, starting with Moss and Chappell being lost for the season while Thomas, Williams, Daniels, and Reed-Adams battled injuries throughout the year to return mid-summer heading into fall. Concerning Le'Veon Moss, this is significant news for the senior back to enter one of the deepest running back rooms in the country compared to last season's depth issues.
Elko also noted that sophomore offensive lineman Mark Nabou is back and healthy after missing the second half of the 2024 season due to injury.
