Not everyone dislikes what the Cincinnati Bengals have done this offseason with the big contracts for Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Most Bengals fans loved the contract extensions that kept Chase and Higgins with Joe Burrow, yes. But outside voices had concerns about the impact on the other roster needs and long-term outlook.
Some who don't dislike what the Bengals have done, though? Try other NFL head coaches like Sean McVay in Los Angeles with the Rams.
"Rare situations dictate rare responses," McVay told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "Special players, special quarterback. The rapport they have and the dynamic they've had when all three are doing their thing, they're as scary as anybody. I was happy for Zac that they got it done and it worked out."
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LeFleur is right there on the same wavelength, too.
"It's rare that teams can pay two, but they did it and for a lot of good reasons," LaFleur said, per Hobson. "These guys are ballers."
Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson went as far as saying teams around the NFL study that trio, too, per Hobson: "They've been playing at a high level for a long time. That offense is dynamic and we look to study them each and every year."
And there's the other extreme angle of Cincinnati's decision to pay up huge for two wide receivers, right? If it doesn't work, fine. But if it does? The Bengals could suddenly have written a new-era blueprint that plenty of other teams scramble to emulate.
